Chiropractic Adjustment

 Chiropractic Manipulation

The purpose of a chiropractic manipulation is to restore proper joint motion to the area adjusted. Often, joints become hypo-mobile and restricted which is usually caused by repetitive motion, poor posture, an injury, or traumatic event such as a car accident. An adjustment will not only restore proper joint motion but it will also help decrease inflammation and pain directly in the joint and surrounding musculature.

At Valente Chiropractic we are expertly trained to adjust the spine and also the extremity joints which include the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and foot. We specialize in manual adjusting including the drop table and flexion/distraction. We also utilize the impulse adjusting instrument, which is a tool that assists in gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to the joints and extremities.

Exercise

Exercise Rehabilitation

At Valente Chiropractic patients are regularly shown specific rehabilitation exercises that will help correct any muscle imbalances, stabilize areas of excessive mobility, increase mobility in tight areas, and aid in the healing of an injury. Rehabilitation exercises are a vital step in ensuring the cause of the problem is fixed. Without the proper exercises pain will often reoccur since the cause of the ailment was not properly addressed. This is why we emphasize the importance of these exercises to our patients both in treatment and at home.

IASTM

IASTM

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization or IASTM, is used to detect and break up scar tissue and muscular adhesions. Scar tissue and muscular adhesions are usually the cause of pain and decreased range of motion which can limit athletic performance and, in some cases, could be at the source of an injury. This technique utilizes a tool that breaks up and mobilizes scar tissue in order to decrease pain, increase range of motion, promote healing and enhance athletic performance.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy, a myofascial technique, is an ancient Chinese form of alternative medicine that has been effective for generations. At Valente Chiropractic we use a silicone cup to decompress the soft tissue which will in turn increase blood flow, break up adhesions and reduce swelling; ultimately promoting the healing process and aiding in a faster recovery.

Kinesiology TapingKinesiology Taping

A hypoallergenic elastic tape used to support and stabilize musculature without restricting the natural motion of joints. Kinesiology tape will also lift the skin off of the muscles allowing increased blood flow and oxygen to the area which will decrease muscle fatigue and speed up recovery. A specific technique can be applied that will significantly reduce bruising and swelling caused by acute injuries.

Low Level Laser TherapyLow Level Laser Therapy

Cold laser has been used in clinics around the world for more than 20 years. It is free of side effects and offers a non-invasive, effective way to control pain and inflammation. There have been over 4,000 clinical studies that have supported the results of the cold laser. The best results from these studies have been when cold lasers were coupled with chiropractic manipulation and manual therapy. During treatment there is little to no sensation; occasionally one feels a mild, soothing warmth or tingle. Typical treatment duration is anywhere from 5-20 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. After the first treatment, most patients will feel improvement and notice a reduction in pain. Our goal is to provide a customized treatment plan that will incorporate cold laser therapy with chiropractic manipulation (adjustment), manual therapy (soft tissue therapy), and exercise rehabilitation to provide an optimal therapeutic environment for your body to heal itself so that you can start feeling better and enjoy your life free of pain.
